Quitting the Capsule Wardrobe & Life Update

As much as I love the simplicity of the capsule wardrobe idea, It’s getting to be more of a hassle than a benefit for my lifestyle.

This year I’m trying to do the whole “living simply” thing and going into the school year, I know that keeping track of my capsule and creating such elaborate posts about it will be too time consuming for me.

So you may be thinking - going into the school year? I thought you were out of school!?

And you’re right! I finished my undergrad and for the last year I’ve been working a couple of part-time jobs. And now I’m going back to school this September! I’m doing a masters program in museum studies - and I’m really excited about it! I’m thinking that my background and knowledge of fine arts will help me in understanding museum practices.

I found out a little while ago that I got accepted, but figured I would keep it on the down-low for the time-being - until things really got solidified.

Because I’m starting school back up again, I want to make sure that I don’t lose the more relaxed demeanour I maintained during this last year. While I love school, it definitely brings out the stresser-outer part of me (which isn’t my best side - haha). So I’m trying my best to prepare as much as I can, simplify as much as I can, so that I can *fingers-crossed* stress less.

So while I won’t be documenting my wardrobe every season, I’m still going to maintain a minimal “capsule” wardrobe. I just won’t be so precise about everything. I think this’ll make my life much easier and the change of seasons less stressful. I never really had a great storage solution for out-of-season clothes so now I won’t have to try to think of a creative solution on hiding away chunky sweaters when it heats up. I’m glad I can just embrace my all-year round closet and hey - maybe this will foster more creative outfit ideas!
