Since the last time I did a favourites or round up of smaller Canadian businesses - I’ve discovered so many new ones! I thought I would select a round-up of 3 and let you know my thoughts!

Adelisa & Co
Category: Leather shoes for adults and kids, they also carry some accessories
The Run Down: Run by Rachel (based in Canada) and Allison (based in Nicaragua) - best friends and business partners who worked with a local young cobbler in Nicaragua, Marvin, to create high quality leather shoes.
Location: BC, Canada & products made in Nicaragua
My experience: I’m so happy I tried out this company! I was looking for really simple summer leather flats and the styles they create are so timeless and simple - exactly what I was looking for! I purchased their mules (around $78 CAD) but during a 20% off sale so it was a little less expensive. Fit, quality and comfort-wise is all great too. I followed their size chart and their recommendations in the product description and the shoes fit perfect.

Fairmile Home Decor
Category: Dried flowers & wall decor (also do wedding special orders)
The Run Down: Run by Natalie, Fairmile Home Decor offers really beautiful dried floral arrangements to use for events (like bridal) or as home decor. The style gravitates towards boho - farmhouse but plenty of items would work for a variety of home decor preferences! Options include: bouquets, wreaths or just the flowers (or foliage) themselves.
Location: BC, Canada
My Experience: I ordered a preserved Silver Dollar Eucalyptus bouquet from Fairmile (not currently available on their website - maybe out of season?) and they arrived quite quickly and beautifully packaged. I could tell they were bundled with care! They were definitely fresh and fragrant and they look beautiful in a vase!
Free Label
Category: women’s clothing
The Run Down: Run by Jess, this sustainable clothing company focusses on comfortable clothing that is made in Canada. Items are made in small batches and available in size XS-4X currently and they are continuing to expand their size range. Prices are around the $90-200 mark for most items.
Location: BC, Canada
My Experience: I ordered a bra & pant set in their classic bamboo fabric that they are known for. When I received the package, I was sent the wrong size in the bra - but their customer service was exceptional - they sent the correct size immediately and I returned the wrong one. I got both pieces in the black bamboo fabric but I will say - the fabric does attract lint (probably also an issue due to my colour choice)! The top fits perfect in an XS but the bottom is slightly big on me (I’m pear shaped) - so I probably would’ve preferred an XXS but that’s not a part of their size range. I do think their size charts are very accurate, but definitely with the stretchy fabric go for the size that will fit your smallest measurement. Also - items tend to sell-out so the best chance to snag your size is to purchase during a pre-order - but that does mean you may be waiting a couple of months before it ships out.
