Evren Jewellery Review: Etsy Finds

As I mentioned previously, I've been loving finding small Canadian businesses on Etsy. It allows me to shop small and to find really unique pieces. Another thing I mentioned previously is that I was no longer *loving* Mejuri pieces, so I've been on the hunt for a Canadian brand that was more my speed. I tried one brand previously: click here to read my review. But, I really wanted a personalized piece and they didn't offer that.
I was looking on Etsy and I found the brand Evren (On Etsy their username is SHOPEVREN). They're based in Vancouver, BC and create minimal and personalized jewellery. They carry items in both 14K gold filled or sterling silver. I really like that on their listings, you can customize quite a bit: the chain design & length, the script of the engraving & what you want engraved.

The piece I chose is called the Engraved Oval Pendant Necklace - Personalized Oval Charm - Initial Necklace - 14k Gold Filled. Here are the specs:
Gold, medium oval (pendant)
Chain length & style: 18", beaded
Personalization: "C"
Font: Script (swirly cursive)
With those options selected, the necklace is normally $130, but there was a 15% shop discount when I purchased (and it's still going on as I type this!). Delivery is free too!
The package came in a white bubble mailer and the box inside was very sleek: white with their logo in black. It came with a little jewellery care card and a print-out of my order invoice.

What I love:
I really love the added detail of the beaded chain. I think it's a really nice "extra special" way to jazz up a regular chain & pendant necklace.
I also love the script font. I find that with the letter "C", sometimes it doesn't translate super cute in different fonts, but this one was nice!
The length is really pretty - it doesn't come down too low.

What's "just okay":
I do notice that the colour of the gold is different when you compare the pendant and the chain. I'm not sure if it means one is lesser quality than the other... but I'll keep you posted if one element seems to tarnish faster than the other. The chain is more of a yellowy gold, vs. the pendant is more of a cool toned gold.
The clasp is really small so it can be a little fiddly to get on and off (not impossible, just more difficult than other clasps).
I probably could've gone for the "large" size oval pendant. Some people in the reviews said the medium seemed on the smaller side... and I'd agree. For a dainty necklace the medium is nice, but if you want the engraving to be more visible, you may want to opt for the large. I think the small size must be really tiny!
Overall - I'm pleased. The "just okay" factors are pretty minor and don't deter me from wearing this necklace. I find that it's a super nice dainty necklace, especially since some of my other pendants are longer and larger (although still minimal). Depending on how it wears long-term, I would definitely purchase from Evren again - but then again, how many personalized jewellery items do I need?!
